Bread And Wine Symbolism

Catholics and prodistants?

I heard that cathloics dont believe in the Bible, or believe it is a book inspired but do not follow? How can they call I was a Christian and not believe in the Bible? Catholics believe that the worship of the masses and taking the bread and wine is acutually receive the body and blood of Christ, not only symbolism or represenative thereof. canabalism is not? Not to bash Catholics, but trying to be with them.

Isabella wrote and compiled the Bible … and the Bible was kept in it's final form … translated into the language of ordinary people … for a thousand years … before the Protestant reformers began his new religion own … and changed them. And since the Catholic Church predates the Bible for about 400 years, is only logiocal to understand that the Bible reflects the real Church teachings. Not vice versa. It is the Protestants who have always been backwards. It was Jesus who said, without reservation, "This is my body." If you think he was speaking symbolically, take it with him. The twelve who were there with him knew exactly what it says and means, and the true church still believes in the words of Jesus, and do exactly what he said to do. Again, it is Protestants who make their own rules, the interpretation of the words of Christ a way no one ever before in world history, never did. And as for cannibalism … cannibals eat the dead flesh of their victims … and the victim is no more. Catholics receive the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ, living and glorious, while God gets the perfect sacrifice and cult practice, courtesy of Jesus, which remains our perfect victim, mediator, high priest in heaven, redeeming, and holy God. It is not cannibalism. It is the Holy Communion, made precisely the way Jesus commanded it. It is also the fulfillment of Passover in Christ. Catholicism remains the only authentic and complete land in the Christian faith. To be be. Jesus put it that way, and promised to remain so until the end of time. Worry, despair, insecurity, fear of death … these are our daily companions, and even though we attempt to ignore them or try to crowd them out, they are there, waiting for us in our quieter moments. It is precisely where we hurt most that the experience of the Orthodox Church has much to offer. The remedy is not any simple admonitions to fight the good fight, cheer up, or think positively. Rather, the Orthodox method is to change the way we look at the human person (starting with ourselves). Orthodoxy shows us how to be transformed by the renewing of our mind –a process that is aided by participation in the traditional ascetic practices and Mysteries of the Church. In this unique and accessible book, Archimandrite Meletios Webber first explores the role of mystery in the Christian life, then walks the reader through the seven major Mysteries (or sacraments) of the Orthodox Church, showing the way to a richer, fuller life in Christ.
